Kevin Johnston contributes 22 years of Leadership, Program Management, and Contract Management experience to Phillips Development & Realty. Currently, he serves as Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for the company’s efficient day-to-day operating activities across all Departments. He coordinates closely with the Managing Director on business decisions and integrates each department towards achieving Phillips Development’s short and long term goals. He is accountable for Facilities and Information Technology systems to include daily operations and advancement of technology. He also synchronizes activities across the project life cycle for new developments including securing financing, executing contracts, and fostering relationships with national vendors and consultants.
A retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, Kevin most recently worked as the Program Manager for highly complex unmanned aircraft systems with the United States Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. In 2003, Johnston was selected as the outstanding Air Force field grade officer of the year for his work on several major construction and housing privatization programs.
Kevin earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University and a MBA from Colorado State University. He is a graduate of several military leadership programs and is a CCIM candidate.
A native of North Carolina, Kevin lives in Tampa with his wife and three daughters. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, boating, diving, and spear fishing.
