Developed by PDR and opened in 2009, the Class-A Phillips University Center features 372 units. The project used a variation of Humphreys & Partners’ Big House design and includes one, two, and three bedroom apartments. Each unit includes granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and solid wood cabinets featuring 42” uppers. Clubhouse amenities include a social room, 24/7 fitness center, media room and internet café. Outdoor amenities include a resort-style pool, summer kitchen, and a convenient car wash.
This project is two miles from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and the Carolinas Regional Medical Center. Additionally, many Fortune 500 companies have major offices and facilities within two miles including IBM, Wachovia, TIAA-CREF and Verbatim. The property has tremendous visibility from I-85 and Harris Boulevard, a four-lane thoroughfare. A 1.1 million square foot retail is just one exit south on I-85 and features North Carolina’s first Ikea store.
